Is it really true that architects continue designing during the building phase of a project? That seems contrary to my observations.

In the body of the post I said, “…design decision are made during building, much more like architecture and less like mass-produced product design.” It probably should say, “some design decisions are made during the building“, as I was referring to the detailed drawings that are done with/for/by carpenters or masons to agree on the details on the build-out.

At the time construction begins, not all the details of a doorway, stairs, shelf, etc. have been worked out. A carpenter might bring a sketch to an architect to suggest how to construct a detail of the design, or vice-versa.
