California recently passed a law Buy ativan without prescription, requirement restaurants with more than 20 chains to post the calorie content of their food on menus and interior menu boards.
It's a smart law, North Dakota ND , Osta alennus ativan, but it brings up an interesting issue: there's no simple symbol for the calorie unit. This will clutter up boards and menus with "Cal." listed all over the place, αγοράζουν φτηνά ativan. Ativan, It seems like there's a growing need for a calorie symbol. Here's my rough suggestion:

From looking at other symbols like the at (@) or the pilcrow (¶), Osta ativan online, Buy cheap ativan, it seems important that the symbol be able to be handwritten as well as flexible for different typefaces. I like the middle one, and this idea. If you look at the obesity and diabetes trends around the world this will have to become a bigger part of our lives. I wonder if there’s another unit that needs to be created alltogether.
I think you should go and meet with David Kessler at UCSF and devise a new system! He’s on book tour right now http://www.amazon.com/End-Overeating-Insatiable-American-Appetite/dp/1605297852

Great idea! And I’m all for S.I. units, but for me calorie is always going to be a more tangible unit.
The fact that the symbol kind of looks like someone eating is even better, it could even be interpreted to represent part of the definition of calorie, with C standing also for Celsius, and the dot representing the 1 degree rise in temperature, for 1 gram/kilogram of water

Hi Brandon –
This is a terrific idea, and a great design!
I blog about healthy eating, and frequently list nutrition information — using “cal” gets tedious and takes up extra space. It sounds nitpicky, but those two extra characters are pretty annoying.
I just posted this morning about the calorie symbol idea (giving you full credit and a link, of course)… I hope your idea gains some traction!
